The United Kennel Club (UKC) and American Bully Kennel Club (ABKC) are the forefront of our registries as American Bully enthusiast. UKC is the oldest registry, which was founded in the early 1900s. UKC caters to every dog breed there is.
When the American Bully was just starting out, they where registered under the ‘American Pitbull Terrier’ as the American Bully was not yet recognized as a ‘breed’, the reason why our bullys are registered under APBT UKC Papers. Recently, UKC have acknowledged existence of the American Bully and started processing American Bully as a breed type.
American Bully Kennel Club (ABKC) was founded in the early 2000s to specifically catering to our beloved American Bully breed. Dave Wilson and co established the registry for the full benefit of the community. it was evident that the APBT traits have become less obvious and the need to differentiate the breed from its roots was necessary.
Then came along RKC, IBKC, ABR, IBR and other registries that also caters to the American Bully breed. Because of its popularity, conflicts and politics arose thus creating their existence. Pros and cons of every registry are definitely on the table. Lets give them a chance and hear their vision for the breed. For us here at Topbully, we fully support every registry that promotes togetherness within our community, we make sure that the best interest of the breed is the foremost concern of these registries. Likewise it is our responsibility as enthusiast to make them accountable for their promises. Let our love for the breed speak, let it unite us instead of dividing us. At the end of the day the American Bullys are considered as families. Family is everything and in this one hot beautiful Archipelago everybody’s family
